Largest number of Digambara Basadis in India are found at Shravanabelagola & its suburbs, Largest number of inscriptions in the India, concentrated in a single centre is found at Shravanabelagola. The foundation of this holy centre was laid around "bili-gola" (white pond), apparently a natural pond either on Small Hill or in the Valley.
